UPDATE: Roanoke Police say the victim of a shooting yesterday died today from his wounds.  He is identified as 21-year-old Brandon Hensley of Roanoke. Police say he was fatally shot in the 3800 block of Panorama Drive Northwest. At last word, there are no suspects or arrests in what is now a murder investigation.

UPDATED NEWS RELEASE: We regret to inform you that the victim of this incident has succumbed to his injuries. He has been identified as Brandon Hensley, 21 of Roanoke. This remains an ongoing homicide investigation. No arrests have been made and no further updates are available at this time.

PREVIOUS:  On July 1, 2021 at approximately 5:00 p.m., Roanoke Police were notified of a person with a gunshot wound in the 3800 block of Panorama Avenue NW. Responding officers located an adult male with what appeared to be a serious gunshot wound outside a residence in the area. Roanoke Fire-EMS transported him to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Officers did not locate any suspects on scene and no arrests have been made. No further information is available at this time. This remains an ongoing investigation.

NOTE: This was the first of two afternoon shootings on two consecutive days in Roanoke. Police report that on Friday, another man was shot on the 900 block of Mountain Road.
